Scholarship Description: The T. W. Lewis Foundation offers a University of Kentucky Scholarship Program, designed to assist outstanding Kentucky high school students in attending college and furthering their education. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need. Recipients receive $2,500 per year in financial assistance for expenses, subject to minimum academic requirements. The awards are renewable for up to four years, providing all conditions for continuing awards are met.

Scholarship Description: The Open Society Foundations, in collaboration with EARTH University, provide five four-year undergraduate scholarships for students from Haiti and five for students from Liberia and Sierra Leone to study at EARTH University, Costa Rica. EARTH University offers a bachelor of science degree with a focus on natural resource management and social entrepreneurship. EARTH University provides an innovative curriculum focused on leadership, agricultural study, and community development to emerging young leaders to enable them to confront the social and environmental challenges of their home countries in tangible and socially responsive ways. During the program, students apply their learning through collaborative group projects, local field work and a mandatory internship in their third year.
