We would like to continue this work which brings greater autonomy to all concerned and is line with Department of Health plans to extend the uptake of assisted living to allow people to continue living independently in their own homes and communities.

Scholarship Description: There is no quota system of any kind. Every applicant competes with every other applicant on an equal basis. The Dixie Youth Baseball scholarship program is administered by an 11-member committee composed of national board members � one from each state � appointed by President P.L. Corley. Johnny Berthelot, National Board member . Each member of the Committee receives a copy of each application. Each committee member studies all applications and vote by ballot for their top choices. Normally, a run-off ballot will be necessary to complete the list of scholarship winners to be chosen in 2010. The process is completed by MAY 1, in time for the recipients to be notified and plans made for the recognition to take place at the recipients �High School Awards Day� ceremonies or during a Dixie Youth tournament. Eligibility:
  • Open to Kentucky high school students.
  • Minimum SAT score of 1800 (M+CR+W), ACT score of 28. Minimum test score requirements are based on the composite or total score from one test date. Combined scores, also known as a super score, from two or more tests will not be considered.
  • Minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 (4-point scale).
  • Rank in the top 10 percent of their graduating class academically.

Scholarship Description: The T. W. Lewis Foundation offers a University of Kentucky Scholarship Program, designed to assist outstanding Kentucky high school students in attending college and furthering their education. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need. Recipients receive $2,500 per year in financial assistance for expenses, subject to minimum academic requirements. The awards are renewable for up to four years, providing all conditions for continuing awards are met.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES AT EARTH UNIVERSITY COSTA RICA 2012

Scholarship Open for International Students:Yes (Haitian, Liberia and Sierra Leone)

Scholarship Description: The Open Society Foundations, in collaboration with EARTH University, provide five four-year undergraduate scholarships for students from Haiti and five for students from Liberia and Sierra Leone to study at EARTH University, Costa Rica. EARTH University offers a bachelor of science degree with a focus on natural resource management and social entrepreneurship. EARTH University provides an innovative curriculum focused on leadership, agricultural study, and community development to emerging young leaders to enable them to confront the social and environmental challenges of their home countries in tangible and socially responsive ways. During the program, students apply their learning through collaborative group projects, local field work and a mandatory internship in their third year. The training helps equip individuals to return to their home countries to help alleviate poverty and encourage sustainable development.

  • Candidates should be applying to start a new graduate course at Oxford.
  •  This scholarship is open to candidates studying for degree-bearing courses, with the exception of Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma courses.
  • Please ensure you meet the requirements for entry to your course, including English language requirements.
  • Students must have been or must currently be domiciled or educated in Scotland.
  • Preference is given to students who have not studied at Oxford before.

Scholarship Description: Pirie-Reid is a small trust fund which is used for scholarships benefiting Scottish students coming to Oxford. The Pirie-Reid trust fund is managed by Wells Fargo in San Francisco. Since the death of Mrs Constance Pirie-Reid in 1975, the trust has funded scholarships in memory of her husband.

CHARLIE PERKINS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR AUSTRALIAN STUDENTS IN UK 2012

[UK 2012] Postgraduate Scholarships for the applicants of Australia funded by The Charlie Perkins Trust

  • be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent have tertiary qualifications
  • be accepted into any graduate degree program offered at the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge
  • it should be noted that this will require a First Class Honours degree, upper Second Class Honours degree or equivalent

Scholarship Open for International Students: Yes(Australia)

Scholarship Description: These postgraduate scholarships are particularly directed towards Indigenous Australians who have the potential to become leaders in their field of study and in their communities. The first two Charlie Perkins Scholars are being funded by the Australian Government, the British Government (through the Chevening program) and Rio Tinto. A panel of prominent Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, together with a representative of the British Government and Cambridge Australia Scholarships, will select the Charlie Perkins Scholars in 2011.
