Eligibility:
To be considered for a Top-Up Scholarship you must:
- Apply before 31 October 2011 to commence a PhD in the Faculty of Arts in 2012. For information on how to apply go to the faculty�s Research Higher Degrees web page.
- Apply for an APA by 31 October 2011. Ensure you can prove that your home address at the time of applying is outside the State of Victoria (that is, you are currently residing in any other state of Australia or in another country).
- Have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a four year Australian degree with a minimum result of first class honours.
- Have strong first class results overall for your final two years of study.
- All applicants who complete the above steps and meet the eligibility criteria will automatically be considered for a Arts Top-up scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The Graduate School of Humanities & Social Sciences is offering top-up scholarships to the Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) for selected outstanding PhD applicants who have a degree from an interstate or a New Zealand university and who intend to commence their PhD studies in 2012. The top-up will increase the total of the APA award to approximately $30,000 annually. Applicants who apply for a PhD with an APA for 2012 will automatically be considered for the top-up. There is no additional application process.
