Eligibility:

1. The award shall be made subject to availability of funds and only one award shall be made at any one time.
2. The scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit and appropriateness of the proposed program of research to the department concerned.

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: This scholarship is funded by a bequest from Professor G C Henderson to promote and encourage research into the history of the Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian communities. This scholarship is open to full-time postgraduate research candidates intending to enrol in the Departments of Anthropology, Archaeology or History at the University of Sydney. The tenure and benefits of the scholarship are similar to that of the UPA (valued at $22,860pa in 2011).
